Disillusioned and dejected, Kogepan now spends his days sitting at the very corner of the room with blank gaze. Seeing elite buns make grand debut on the bakery's display makes him bitter but he would not settle for being just a sniveling victim. He sometimes tries to “blend in” with the elites and even looks after them despite his complicated feelings. Though his life has not quite turned out the way he hoped, life has not abandoned him.
